Sierra has worked in the non-profit sector for three years. Previously, she worked for a non-profit in Atlanta where she managed client services and ran their employment program for individuals returning from jail or prison. Before that, Sierra worked in higher education for two years while completing a Master's in Sociology, focusing on inequality and social justice. Sierra’s research concentrated on the intersection of race and criminal history, specifically exploring the employment discrimination of Indigenous job seekers with criminal backgrounds. When she’s not working, Sierra enjoys hiking and fishing with her nephews and her dog. Sierra grew up in Petersburg but has lived out of the state for 10 years. Sierra is excited to be back in Southeast Alaska, giving back to the community that has shaped so much of her identity.
