Staff Profile for Sheryl Weinberg - Executive Director

Ms. Weinberg's 30-year career also includes teaching in Arizona and Alaska, university teaching, and special education administration. She has successfully worked with students of all ages and ability levels in a variety of classroom and geographic settings. Her teaching and experiences as coordinator of services for gifted students and those identified as emotionally disturbed provide a solid base for her work with teachers and administrators.

Ms. Weinberg is one of the most knowledgeable professionals in the state on special education. She twice served as president of the Alaska Federation of the Council for Exceptional Children, twice chaired the Statewide Special Education Conference, and was a member of the Alaska Statewide Special Education Conference Steering Committee for a number of years. She has produced training materials and videos, facilitated training for certified staff and paraprofessionals, participated with Department of Education staff in compliance monitoring, and has successfully presented to educators at national conferences and throughout Alaska. Ms. Weinberg is knowledgeable and highly respected by students, parents, and peers.
