Staff Profile for Linda Kadrlik - All-Alaska Academy Coordinator

Ms. Kadrlik earned her bachelors of science and a master of education (curriculum and instruction) from the University of Washington and spent several years teaching science and heading an interdisciplinary middle school teaching team in Seattle before arriving in Alaska to work for Alyeska Central School. During her years at Alyeska, she designed and developed several distance learning courses including Alaska Science, Physical Science, Electronic Mail and Chemistry (which required carefully choosing non-combustible experiments for distance delivery students) as well as playing a pivotal role in moving Alyeska Central School towards on-line instruction. Today, Linda returns to SERRC seasonally to coordinate the All-Alaska Academy that is comprised of Alaska Close Up, Junior Alaska Close Up, Career Connections, Government Internship, Technology Training and Special Education Transition Camps.
In 1991, Linda was a Christa McAuliffe Fellow for the National Foundation for Improvement in Education. During 1995–1997, she worked as a ‘Road Ahead Mentor’ to a teaching team using educational technology in Anchorage. Along with her responsibilities at SERRC, Linda and her husband own and operate Adventures Afloat, a business that provides multi-day cruises and fishing adventure on their 106’ yacht M/V VALKYRIE.
