Obtaining a driver’s license is a critical step in applying for good jobs or advancing career training and education goals. With AK Drive, SERRC offers individuals the chance to learn to drive and boost job-placement eligibility.

School districts and other organizations can contract with AK Drive to offer drivers training to groups of students. See www.akdrive.org for more details.

AK Drive was started with funding from the Denali Training Fund Youth Program, Alaska Highway Safety Office, First Bank, State Farm, Shattuck and Grummett Insurance, Wells Fargo, Mendenhall Auto, Coeur Alaska and Sitka Moose.

A recent generous Wells Fargo donation allowed 16 at-risk youth in Juneau to participate in AK Drive’s driver’s education.
Thank you Wells Fargo!

SERRC recently hosted a mini celebration of a generous grant from Wells Fargo which allowed youth from Juneau, Kake, and elsewhere in Alaska to boost their job training skills with AK Drive driver's education and Career Connections job shadowing. Pictured here are students from Kake who participated in Career Connections, Wells Fargo Juneau employees, Representative Cathy Munoz, SERRC staff, and Juneau driver's ed students.
