Professional Practices Inventory - Alaska Teaching Standards
Correlated to the Standards for Alaska’s Teachers, this service offers online self-assessment for teachers in eight different areas. Here’s how it works: Teachers take an online survey that provides instant online access to aggregate results that can help districts’ identify and plan relevant staff development that will meet the requirements for Title II A of the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Act. The results can be viewed by skill level, state standard, item, interest, skill and interest combined, gap analysis, and teacher demographics including grade level, years of teaching, and preferred methods of receiving professional development. Beyond district aggregated data the service also enables staff to login and review their individual reports to identify areas of strength and areas for growth correlated with state teacher standards. Registration for this service is $300 per district and $3 per survey.
Professional Practices Inventory – Technology
Aligned with the Alaska Content Standards for Technology and the International Society for Technology in Education’s National Educational Technology Standards, SERRC’s Technology Professional Practices Inventory enables districts to quickly and easily assess their staff’s knowledge and skills in the use of instructional technologies. This research-based online tool gives staff members an individualized report detailing their strengths and weaknesses in the utilization of instructional technologies. It also provides district aggregate data to use when planning professional development activities and implementation of their technology plans. Registration for this service is $300 per district and $3 per survey.
