Career Connections

Here’s your opportunity to work at a real job in a field of interest or to become aware of training and careers in high-growth industries. During your week-long session we will also explore higher education options, career exploration and learn job-seeking skills. Objectives and activities are aligned with Alaska Content Standards. Check the sample schedule, attached below, for additional details.

You are eligible to attend Career Connections if you are a 11th – 12th grader, are at least 16 years of age, and have the honesty, integrity, dependability and maturity to adjust to the adult atmosphere of the workplace.

Your district will begin the enrollment process with an intent form. Teachers who are attending should use the "Just for Teachers" link to prepare themselves and their students for the session. Make sure parents read the "Just for Parents" page. Use the “Just for Students” link to learn additional details and access the advance assignments. Career Connection students complete assignments 3, and 10 through 13.

2008-09 Sessions
Session 1: November 17-21, 2008; Intent forms are due October 6, 2008.

Session 2: March 23-27, 2009; Intent forms are due January 12, 2009
