When do LSPs and Registrars work? How many days a week? How many days during the school year?
The Registrars do all their work before students start attending the after-school program. The Registrar collects information about each child. This information is used by the district coordinator to set up the students' various web based accounts.

The LSP facilitates the program on a day-to-day basis. One of the first jobs of the LSP in coordination with the site principal is to establish a calendar for the program. The LSP will down load a calendar from the LSP resource section of this website. Using the calendar, the LSP in coordination with the principal, will identify 80 days during which the program will operate. Holding labs 3 days a week has been a successful model and is recommended. Each site plans its calendar based on its unique scheduling needs. All Alaska Learning Lab sessions are 90 minutes long.

Do I have to submit fingerprints so that an FBI background check can be done on me?
All non-certified employees of the Alaska Learning Lab are required by federal law to submit to a FBI background check requiring fingerprint analysis. Any person with a current Alaska Teaching Certificate is exempt.
